For the uptake of biotoxins from microalgaes

AttractSPE®SPATT Biotoxins is a Solid phase adsorption toxin tracking (SPATT) is a new monitoring tool that simulates the biotoxin contamination of filter feeding bivalves. SPATT consist of a solid sorbent HP-20 (equivalent to 3g dry) contained between two nylon mesh membranes maintained in a 8 cm diameter framework. The sorbent collects the biotoxins in water.

AttractSPE®SPATT Biotoxins adsorbs microalgal toxins dissolved in seawater such as Pectenotoxin (PTXs), Yessotoxin (YTX), Okadaic acid (OA)/ Dinophysistoxin (DTXs) and Azaspiracids (AZAs).

To evaluate the contamination of shellfish with biotoxins, the chemical analysis of the algal toxins collected by the SPATT devices is much easier than for shellfish. Sample preparation is rapid and simple, and few interfering components are usually present in the sample extracts.

In addition the toxin profile is much simpler than the metabolite profile usually found in shellfish.

These products can be held on a 3-element holder and on small canisters.
